Departing slightly from previous years, the MWLD held their annual Halloween Event on Shiverpool's Halloween Bus. The group was able to listen to stories of Liverpool's ghosts and ghouls and they travelled round the city in the Ghoul Bus! Great event for both children and adults.
Once again the Committee donned their trainers and WLD t-shirts all in the name of justice. The team completed the walk around the city.
A new event for the MWLD was the fantastic Pamper Night held by Harvey Nichols. Prosecco and Canape's on arrival followed by an evening of beauty demonstrations, cocktail classes and treatments ensured that our WLD ladies looked a million dollars after a stressful week in the legal world. To top the evening off, Harvey Nichols donated a wonder beauty hamper and we were able to raffle it off to raise money for The WhiteChapel Centre. A must for next year events!
Back by popular demand was the MWLD's Cocktail Master Class at Gusto. Once again we were entertained by the vibrant bar tenders and learned some valuable skills in how to make delicious (and highly alcoholic) cocktails. The event was sponsored by Wesleyan for Lawyers who held a raffle draw whilst members relaxed with a glass of prosecco and Italian sharing platters.
All in all this was a fantastic night at such a lovely venue.
We started the new year with our welcome event on 4th June at the Slug and Lettuce. With a glass of bubbly on arrival and a delicious selection of nibbles available it was a fantastic opportunity to meet our members, both old and new, as well as discuss our future events and our nominated charity, The Whitechapel Centre.
It was lovely to see so many members attend the event and a lovely evening was had by all.
We held our Annual General Meeting on 15th April at New Capital Restaurant in Liverpool. Wesleyan for Lawyers provided us with a seminar on Mortgages before we tucked into a lovely meal. The new committee for 2015/2016 is:-
