Ghost Tour with Haunted Liverpool - Friday 31st October 2014

The last WLD event took place on Friday 31st October 2014 and in the spirit of Halloween we planned a haunted ghost tour around the city.

We had our own tour guide who stopped to tell us stories at various points, including outside the bombed out church. Fancy dress was optional but as you can see from our pictures most people opted for face paint and cat ears which added to the theme of things. The night was a great success and all proceeds from the evening went to Freshfields Animal Sanctuary which was an added bonus.

Liverpool Legal Walk

WLD were one of 17 teams who took part in the 2014 Liverpool Legal Walk. Amy Clague, Chair of the WLD was the Lead Walker of the team. Amy was joined by Kathryn King (EAD), Jen Butler (EAD), Camilla Waszek (EAD), Suzanne Carse (EAD) Pamela Chan (EAD), Emily Pullan (Blain Bolan) and Heather Morris (Brabners). The star of the team was Amy's little dog, Molly who thoroughly enjoyed the event.

WLD appreciate the work done by the North West Legal Support Trust and are pleased to announce that by participating in the Liverpool Legal Walk, we managed to raise £217.50 for this worthy cause.

SUMMER SOIREE - Constellations Bar

The WLD's summer soiree was held on Thursday 4th September 2014 and was kindly sponsored by Kingsley Associates.

It took place at Constellations Bar which is the quirky new urban garden space that forms part of the Baltic Triangle, Greenland Street.

The event was open to all and those in attendance were treated to a drink on arrival. The food was provided by Street Food who offered different flavoured burritos all of which were freshly prepared and cooked on the pop up serving station in the corner of the venue.

There was a raffle on the night in aid of our nominated charity, Wirral St Johns Hospice. The venue kindly donated the raffle prize of 4 craft beers which were uniquely presented in a plant pot, to the winner, Rachel Hepple (The Berkson Globe Partnership). Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket. We raised over £45 for our charity through ticket sales.

Cocktail Making, Gusto

The cocktail making event took place at Gusto on Friday 27th June 2014; it was a blend of cocktails, fizz and canapés. The bartenders were passionate about their profession and the hospitality of the waitresses created a great atmosphere on the night. After we had attempted to make everything from a Daiquiri to a Margarita, a number of members took advantage of the 20% discount voucher which was on offer for anyone wanting to sample the main menu. The combination of food, drink and good company made this night a great success.
